DC Area Summer Mentorship Program Event 2 – Mentorship Best Practices with Victor Padilla Taylor

Join the Yale Club of Washington, D.C. to learn all about how to build successful mentorship relationships! Victor Padilla-Taylor of the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale will guide us through tips, best practices, and the “dos and don’ts” of mentorship that we all can use—either this summer with a Yale alumni mentorship match or elsewhere in the future.

Victor Padilla-Taylor
Director of Mentor, Advisor and Partner Networks at Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale (Tsai CITY)

Master of Advanced Management 2015

Victor is currently the Director of Mentor, Advisor and Partner Networks at the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale (Tsai CITY), where he works to build a support network for students interested in entrepreneurship and innovation at Yale University. Previously, he was a Global Leadership Fellow at the World Economic Forum, where he brought together key decision-makers and experts from business and society to work in collaborative activities addressing the most crucial global issues, such as the provision of humanitarian aid and access to transportation in rural areas. Prior to joining the Forum, he held strategic positions for more than 10 years at trading firms in Latin America to optimize their worldwide operations and business development in a diverse range of industry verticals such as chemicals, agriculture and transportation.

Victor graduated from the Master of Advanced Management at Yale in 2015. While at Yale, he conducted research at the Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY), where his work focused in developing specialized training for business leaders working on the world's most significant environmental issues. He also worked in promoting entrepreneurial activities among students and faculty members of the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM), a group of leading business schools from around the world that is devoted to enhance the leadership capacities of local, regional and global stakeholders.

Victor earned an Executive Master's in Global Leadership from World Economic Forum in 2018, and holds an MBA from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile and a Chemical and Industrial Engineering degree from his adopted country Guatemala, where he was captain for the Men's National Basketball Team.
