Tree Walk with Casey Trees

Wednesday, May 4, 2022

6:00-7:30pm

Meeting point: Casey Trees

3030 12th St NE

Washington, DC 20017

(We will then walk around around the Brookland and CUA neighborhoods)

Join Casey Trees, a DC-based nonprofit, for an easy paced, 75-minute tree appreciation and identification walk from our headquarters in Brookland. We will meander through the neighborhood to the campus of Catholic University to view some magnificent trees and end at a nearby watering hole for those who want to continue chatting with fellow alumni.

About Casey Trees

Since 2002, Casey Trees has worked to restore, enhance and protect the tree canopy of the nation’s capital. While their support is a more recent event on Washington, D.C.’s timeline, our urban forest has been growing strong since the inception of our city. Going back to D.C.’s early days, the nation’s founders made sure that the city had a balance of nature and buildings. By 1870, 60,000 trees were planted as part of a public works project – earning D.C. the nickname “City of Trees”. Today Casey Trees strives to build on the green foundation of our founders and work to ensure that trees remain part of resident’s everyday life. They are driven by trees and people. When you support Casey Trees, you join a community of people dedicated to protecting our urban forest and create a more climate resilient city.
