Discussions about the Purposes of College Education based on the course taught by Yale College Dean Pericles Lewis

Join us for dinner and conversation about the themes of Yale's 2026 DeVane lecture series, Purposes of College Education, taught by Yale College Dean Pericles Lewis. The course uses Plato's Republic and Yale's own history, to examine how college builds character, citizenship, and community. Participants in the salon series will be encouraged to watch selected lectures online and then join for dinner and conversation about the course themes and about how participants' own views of college have changed since graduation.

Dates/ Times: September 16, October 21, and November 18, 6:30 - 8:30 pm

7:00 pm — Discussion begins
